I'm trying to form coherent thoughts, so please bear with me. Also, be warned - this bad boy contains some major spoilers. All of the fangirl squeeing, mostly about the gorgeous Castiel and the return of my Deanie baby, is under the cut.

Dean... We need to talk. )

All in all, this episode was amazing. Both my mother and I were on the edge of our seats for the entire duration. So even though this isn't really a review, more like a girl squeeing over the return of one of her top favorite series of all time, I'm still going to slap a grade on it. Why? Because I can.

Kitsu's Final Grade - A+
Insomnia... It really is a killer.

I just re-watched From Out of the Rain for the first time since it's initial showing on television. And, after having done so, I realize that I really do have a "love-hate" relationship with this episode.

Review, and a little bit of ranting under the cut.

All in all, I found this episode to be along the lines of "ok." It wasn't all that bad, but it wasn't all that great either. However, despite all of its short-comings, I still have to admit that it was pretty damned creepy and atmospheric. It was also Ianto-centric, which satisfied that horrible little fangirl who resides within me. I was also rather happy with the fact that Jack and Ianto got to work alone on a case. So, I guess if I were to put all rational thinking aside, I could grow to love this episode...

Kitsu's Final Grade: C
Review for The Stolen Earth under the cut.

All in all, this episode was basically 100 percent pure fanservice. And, being as big of a fan as I am of this series, I must admit that I'm quite satisfied.

Kitsu's Final Score: A
Today, I finally got around to watching Joss' latest project: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. This was done via iTunes download, so it was completely legal. I did this so that, hopefully, this little program will get an official DVD release in the near future.

As for the program itself... Bloody. Fantastic. This was a perfect musical follow-up to the Buffy episode Once More With Feeling. Also, kudos to Neil Patrick Harris in his role as Dr. Horrible. There were several instances where I literally had to pause the program because I was laughing so hard at his antics. It's been quite some time since I've done that. Nathan was also superb -- I loved his line "Ow! This must be what pain feels like!" I also loved the line "The hammer is my penis."  Ha! That line is destined to become a classic!

Basically, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog came along and provided me with quite a few much appreciated laughs -- which I desperately needed after the past 48 hours I've had to endure with a beloved family pet dying of cancer.

Babs, honey, I dedicate this post to you. You were a vital part of this family for seventeen years. You will be sorely missed.
I went to see The Dark Knight over the weekend, and yet I'm just now writing about it in my journal? Yes, I do indeed fail at life. Actually, there's a good explanation... I've been re-watching Torchwood series 2 and Charlie Jade. So, yeah, that has basically consumed my free-time. I'm a complete dork over those two series -- sue me.

Anyway, time to talk about the knight.

First and foremost, I've got to get this off my chest-- if Heath doesn't at least get an oscar nom, I'm sending my personal bounty-hunter after the entire academy. His portrayal of the Joker was just simply haunting; it was mesmerizing watching him on-screen. He even distracted me from Bale at times -- which is really saying something. Now, as for Bale, he was fantastic as always. He has successfully turned Bruce into a truly complicated character.

All in all, this film definitely measured up to the hype -- it was an action-packed thrill ride from start to finish. Here's hoping that the academy will cease being so damn ignorant, and finally realize that comic-book adaptations can be just as good as those other films they seem to love so damn much that no one has even heard of.

Now then, time for bed...

After a year of being MIA, this layabout has finally made her way back to LJ... And she finds that it's time for a few changes.

First of all, this journal is no longer of the "friends only" variety. I found that to be somewhat pretentious of me for some reason, so I decided to unlock my journal so that everyone is free to come in and comment as they please; all I ask is for you to behave yourself, and at least try to act mature. And yes, fangirl-y squee is also welcome-- just don't go overboard. Friending is also always welcome, just please let me know so that I may friend you back.

Second: the main uses for this journal are going to be for posting pictures of my ever growing collection of collectible merchandise. This, of course, will include: DVDs, autographs, manga/comics/graphic novels, posters/wallscrolls, figures, etc. Collecting various items from my favorite television series has become my main ever-consuming hobby, and I would very much like to share my collection with other people. Hopefully, I'll come across others who share this passion as well.

The first pictures of my collection shall be posted shortly; I'm still waiting for a few DVDs to come in the mail, along with a few exclusive autographed stamp-covers from Doctor Who that I just ordered. Hopefully, the pictures will be up by the end of the month.

Third: I'm going to also use this journal to document some huge upcoming trips that I'm currently planning. The first may very well be to Williamsburg, VA-- namely Jamestown (although I may also swing by Busch Gardens for the hell of it). After that, I'm going to see the Dead Sea Scrolls in Raleigh, and in March I'm going on an exclusive ghost-hunting trip to the Waverly Hills Sanatorium (as featured in Ghost Hunters).

Fourth, and finally: I may very well be posting reviews for episodes from my favorite television series here; the first is expected to be for Doctor Who - Stolen Earth (4x12).

Well, that's pretty much it. So, in closing, it's great to finally be back on LJ. Now, to quote my second favorite vampire, let's get to work.
Sorry about the delay. I saw the film yesterday, and I had planned on writing the review when I got home, but I was struck down by a horrible migraine. I apologize. Now then, time for the review:

First and foremost, I would like to state that I am indeed a die-hard fan of Harry Potter, and have been since the third book (which would explain why it's my favorite), so my review may be just a little bit biased. It is my opinion that this is the best HP film yet. It's shorter than the other films, but it gets straight to the point. You-Know-Who is back, but the Ministry and the rest of the wizarding world is suffering from "the ostrich syndrome". They refuse to believe it, and Harry has become a total outcast because of it. As has Dumbledore.

This film is dark, gritty, and has all the makings of a good horror film despite the fact that it isn't. The acting is also superb. Kudos especially to Daniel, Rupert, and Emma. Unfortunately, Rickman and Fiennes completely stole the movie right out from under them. Sorry guys.

I'm not going to go any further than that because I don't want to spoil it. I will say this much though, the best part of the entire film is the ending. Also... We needed more Tonks.
