As per usual, my thoughts are under the cut...
Seriously, what the fuck was going on during this episode?
Let's break it down:
1. Sam slept with Ruby -
Oh, boy...
Personally, I don't care about this either way. What I do care about, however, is how the fandom is going to react to it. Both Jared and Genevieve may very well receive some serious backlash from this, and that saddens me something horrible. Surely, both Eric and Sera knew what they were doing when they wrote this into the story.
Another thing I must point out is the fact that it is just... wrong. It doesn't matter if the girl's soul in no longer inside the body, this is still a question of morals. It was her body. And even if she is a 'Jane Doe', there's still a possibility of a family out there frantically searching for their daughter/sister/girlfriend. Now tell me - what would happen if said family were to run into Ruby on the street? The encounter would rip them apart.
Talking about controversy... You guys have opened up a whole new can of worms with this.
2. Anna -
Not sure what I thought about this girl. I do find it interesting that she shares the same name as the prophetess, Anna, in the Bible who was the daughter of Phanuel, which just so happens to be another name that Uriel goes by. Anna was also the name of Samuel's mother. Surely this isn't just a coincindence...
2. Alastair -
Now this guy right here was awesome- No. He was made of awesome. His entrance and the way he kicked the Winchesters' asses? Yeah, it had me flailing, and cheering him on. I also found it very interesting how his eyes were the same color as Lilith's, along with the fact that he's completely immune to Sam's powers. He also survived an one-on-one battle against the demon killing knife. This suggests that he may be higher up on the foodchain than Lilith. And that thought alone gets me excited.
In a nutshell, he was BADASS. I demand more of him in the show.
3. Castiel and Uriel's entrance -
How awesome was this? Seriously, people, I was literally squeeing. And what was up with the looks exchanged between Cas and Dean? Also, has anybody else noticed how when these two are in a room together, they concentrate solely on one-another? Everything else just seems to fade away. If you don't believe me, take a closer look at what happened in the motel room in the episode It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester. Once you've done that, re-watch this episode. If you don't notice it, then keep repeatedly watching it until you do. Trust me, it's there.
Kitsu's Final Grade: C
As for next week: I'm holding out hope here, Kripke. You better deliver.
