The plot has to be picked up next week. lol and I understand the importance of fillers, but not all fillers are created equal and this one is low on the bar.

I guess from the way they have been hyping this episode since January I expected it to be more daring and not a filler per se. I have been doing no spoilers for the duration of this season... so all I knew was the thing about a half-bro, not the plot etc. But I did think that it they could have delivered the story and it add to the arch better.

I hold by my sentiment that the time frame was a cop out - trying to pacify everyone and keep the kid being real. But heck, as the seasons progress, I find Daddy Winchester more repugnant so I would not have been a pitch fork carrier if they tainted his image more than they did. it's just the timing is soooooo convenient. Why could they have not made Sam 17 or 16 lol - even that would be better than 18 and in college.

I too have concerns they are really going to raise Lu, which then signals the end of the world, which then begets the question how there can be people after the end time. If they really do go there, it will break all continuity throughout the season; it will be changing the rules in the final hour after the rules had been defined since AYTGIMDW. You may consider such concerns or assessments too picky, but I happen to just equate it with thinking logically while following their rules, in addition to setting the bar high for the writers because they are good and deserve that amount of respect. Personally I would rather the series end with the boys coming within an inch of killing each other than Lucifer rise (and that's saying something...).
