Oh, I'm not mad at Sammy, either. He wanted a brother again. Someone he could bond with, someone who understood him. Adam had this potential because he wanted revenge for his mom and Sam is out for Lilith's head in revenge for Dean and everything else. They'd have drive and camaraderie. Adam also listens and respects Sam, while Dean doesn't. Dean always sees him as a "little" brother.
Plus, Dean no longer gets any of this. I mean, he "gets" it, but he doesn't agree with it. They've grown distant. He thinks Sam is going too far. Adam doesn't have all of Dean's demon bias yet. So yeah... Sammy sees the potential of having a brother again. I can't fault him that.
