Right now all I can say is...
Wow. Just... wow. This was one hell of an episode. It was creepy and atmospheric, and it answered quite a few questions that were brought up with the premiere. However there were still quite a few left unanswered - these two in particular: Why was Dean singled out by God? What role is he supposed to play in the upcoming battle?
Here's a few other things about the episode I loved:
First of all, my heart shattered when Dean asked the question: "Why would God save someone like me?"
Second, how badass was Castiel? Especially when he said: "Show me some respect," and "I'm the one who pulled you out of hell. I can throw you right back in."
Geez, man. Cut the poor guy a break. Like you yourself said, Dean didn't even believe in Angels three days ago, so cut him so slack. He'll warm up to you. Still, despite that, Casty - yes, that's my nickname for him - was just simply oozing badassness. It was awesome. I also loved the fact that Dean seemed to be able to sense his presence when he appeared. That demonstrates that the two of them may share a connection. And whoo... How intense was that scene between him and Dean? Wow.
And, I loved the part where Castiel said that Angels were God's warriors. I had a feeling that that was the direction Kripke was going when he finally brought Angels into the canon. Also, Revelations was brought up which explained why Misha has been reading it to prepare for the role. It also appears as if Lilith is planning to release Lucifer, which is the reason why the Angels are walking amongst us after keeping a safe distance for 2000 years. I'm very curious as to which 6 Angels were slain, though.
Another thing, how awesome was Bobby? Haha, he's even got a 'Panic Room' for ghosts. Bobby, you fucking rock! XD
This episode was utterly fantastic. It continued the underlying epic storyline nicely, and it featured the dramatic return of a few beloved characters. And the preview for next week made me literally go: "Squee!"
Kitsu's Final Grade: A
Kripke, you're currently two-for-two for season four. I want to have your babies... LOL.
