My good friend [ profile] x5649 just finished this video today after being inspired by my latest Dean/Castiel fanmix. In it, she brings together two completely different pairings from two completely different universes - those pairings of course being Dean/Castiel from Supernatural, and Sheppard/Teyla from Stargate Atlantis.

This video is just simply beautiful. All of the scenes chosen for both pairings fits the song perfectly, thus fixing it to where everything blends together in a very smooth fashion.

So, I found out yesterday that Stargate Atlantis has been canceled by the moronic wonderful people at the Sci-Fi Channel. My reaction? To be brutally honest with you, it went a little something like this: "It's about time. Thanks for not disappointing me you glorious people you."

Now, before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, keep in mind that that was my trademark sarcasm.

I knew the cancellation was coming -- it was just a matter of time. Those folks just can not seem to stand it when they've got a great series on their hands. It's almost as if they go "OMG! Fix it until it's broken, or cancel it! We can not have anything decent on this station -- it will ruin our reputation! FLAIL! FLAIL!!"

Examples of wonderful series canceled by said idiots: Farscape (I'm still angry over this) and The Dresden Files

Also, am I alone in thinking that the real reason for this cancellation is because the Sci-Fi Channel wants to put their full support behind the new Amanda Tapping series "Sanctuary?" Which will probably be canceled after it's first season... It looks too damn good. Can't be having any of that!

Another thing that puzzles me to no end is the fact that Eureka is re-newed year after year. Wtf? This series is nothing more than a blatant rip-off of other, BETTER, science-fiction that was around long before it was. I honestly think that the heads of the writers, of this said program, would explode if they actually had an original thought. And another thing... Err... Nevermind. If I keep going, I'm going to insult someone, so I'm just going to shut the hell up.

End teh bitchy!post. Good night folks~

For those whom it may concern, the fifth season of Stargate Atlantis premieres tonight at 10:00 PM (EST) on the Sci-Fi Channel after an all-new episode of Doctor Who

I succeeded in getting my reservations for the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at North Carolina's Museum of Natural Sciences yesterday. They're for the day after Thanksgiving, and I'm planning on going with my entire family. No photos of any kind are allowed, however I can take pictures of the other exhibits. I'll be sure to post them here when I get back.
I've changed my layout to that of a Supernatural theme; credit belongs to [personal profile] riddley

Also, I received the following DVDs in the mail:

Batman Begins - Limited Edition Gift Set (Blu-Ray)
Stargate Atlantis - The Complete Fourth Season
Wire in the Blood - The Complete Fifth Series

A picture of the above is under the cut.

The lenticular on the front of the BB box is superb; it's basically the same one that was used for the BestBuy exclusive version of the film when it was first released on regular DVD. Also, I love the postcards that came with the box set -- particularly the one of Batman standing on the side of the building (fourth one from the left). Another great thing about this set is the fact that you get to see the first six minutes of The Dark Knight in hi-def (*insert fangirl squee here*). Money cash was also included for said film so that you can see it free of charge.

In other words, this box set was well worth the $34 that I dished out for it.

As for SGA season 4, the artwork on the front of the box is great-- although the second season box is still my favorite overall (I have a thing for shiny boxes). The WitB box on the other hand is a bit bland (as usual I might add). However, the pictures on the inside digi-pack are nice; they're in warm colors, and they feature the four main cast members of the series.
